Terpenes and The Entourage Effect

Terpenes and The Entourage Effect

Terpenes are natural compounds that provide the unique smell and flavor of plants. They are found across all types of plants and especially concentrated in cannabis plants.

Terpenes are oily compounds secreted in the hemp plant’s glandular trichomes alongside the cannabinoids.

Various researchers have emphasized the pharmacological importance of terpenes which form the basis of aromatherapy.

Cannabis’s captivating fragrance and flavor are determined by the predominate terpenes in a strain.

One thing unique to cannabis is the sheer diversity of possible terpene profiles, and this is why there are so many different varieties that deliver very different effects.

There is aphenomenon where several different compounds work together to achieve an effect that would be impossible for them to achieve on their own.

This “accompanying effect" is the sum of the effects that compounds can produce in the relationship to each other.
